The National Geographic is to launch a competition aimed at amateur photographers.
 
The "Morning, Noon and Night " competition, which begins on 15 May when the website goes live, is sponsored by Fujifilm.
The top prize includes an assignment with adventure photographer Bill Hatcher.

The winner will be able to see the results of this trip to a location in the UK currently under wraps, published in a special three-page feature in an upcoming issue of the National Geographic magazine.
