NEW YORK - US Internet group Yahoo said it was launching a new version of its search engine for advertisers to help businesses connect more easily with customers.
Yahoo said that from the July-September quarter, it would offer a "completely redesigned" advertising search platform based on new application program interfaces (APIs).
The new platform will be deployed country by country, with different phases within each market to help ensure "a smooth transition" for advertisers and to allow search engine marketers time to build their content on the new APIs.
"Yahoo's new technologies and features should encourage more participation in search advertising by making it easier for marketers to understand the performance of their campaigns and experiment more frequently with the medium," said Steve Mitgang, Yahoo's senior vice president of advertising.
