NEGLECTED PC PLATFORM UNDERGOING TECH REVIVAL
LOS ANGELES - The personal computer game industry is set for a revival, fueled by consumers flocking to online video games.
Constantly improving technology that makes graphics better on a PC along with services that unite players on PCs with others are drawing more game-players to the computer.
Allowing players to link up whether on a PC, cell phone or video game console is one way in which Microsoft is seeking to boost enthusiasm for video games on PCs. The software giant is also making it easier to create video games for its Xbox 360 and PCs at the same time, cutting the development costs and exploiting the advantages of the PC. Joining Microsoft in the broader PC game strategy are such video game makers as Electronic Arts, UbiSoft and Blizzard Entertainment.
