Twice a year, Intel hosts one of their Intel Developer Forum shindigs in California. While there are other IDFs held around the world, the close proximity to Intel's main headquarters means that a host of corporate luminaries trot out to show off what's going on at the world's biggest semiconductor company.

Intel quad core QX6700 processor

The keynote by Paul Otellini highlighted the launch of Intel's Core 2 processors, claiming over 5 million CPUs shipped in just 60 days. In one of the more polished IDF keynotes, Intel highlighted the upcoming quad core QX6700 processor by showing a slick demo of Remedy's next game, Allen Wake. At one point, the commentator from Remedy noted that the intense physics being shown during a tornado scene were all running on one core.
