Tokyo, Japan - It may be late in the holiday shopping season, but the launch of PlayStation 3 was a hit at a Tokyo game show, where Japanese gamers got their first chance to get their hands on the new game console.

Gamers eager to try the Sony PlayStation 3 series

Do Itakuya, 11, while waiting to try out the latest version of Gran Turismo for the PS3 said, "It's the first time that I will be able to test the PS3. The graphics are really great. The cars look so real."

Gamers were eager to try the latest from the PlayStation 3 series as they waited for up to 70 minutes on line.
