M-Audio Revolution 7.1 - Audiophile Quality Audio at a Consumer Price

The Revolution 7.1 is a great example of this, and boasts some of the highest quality audio specifications currently available in the consumer market.
A few weeks ago we reviewed the M-Audio Sonica Theater - a USB based audio upgrade solution for laptops and SFF machines. We were sufficiently impressed with the quality of this diminutive audio solution to contact M-Audio again to request their current flagship consumer audio solution - the Revolution 7.1- for testing. The Revolution 7.1 was launched back in January 2003 and since then has been greeted with acclaim by the computer-owning audio enthusiast community.
M-Audio (formerly Midiman) are better know for some of their professional
computer audio solutions, such as the Audiophile 2496 and Delta series of studio
products. However, back in December 2001, M-Audio launched its consumer division
with the goal of leveraging its award-winning professional audio products to
produce high-quality consumer products.
